These socks have been an on-again-off-again affair. I like the pattern, but it’s just fiddly enough that I can’t work on it and watch TV (unless it’s only on in the background) or socialize at the same time. In addition, while I adore Koigu and love these colors, this particular ball of yarn was especially twisty and kept kinking up, making it a pain the ass to work on.
The pattern itself was the first from Interweave Press’s new book Favorite Socks that I’d attempted, and while I do love the pattern itself, there was a chart error that caused some confusion for a bit. (I’ve emailed Interweave about it, but haven’t heard anything back yet). Also, I have some concerns about the heel - instead of a regular heel flap, the lace pattern is continued down all the way to the sole, and it feels pretty flimsy. We’ll see how it holds up. Otherwise, though, it’s a beautiful sock.
