Cable Rib Socks

Cable Rib Socks

These were the first socks I knit in 2007 that were not from yarn I had dyed myself. My friend Hans gave me this yarn (and another pair’s worth in a different colorway) for Christmas 2006. (My friends know me so well, don’t they?) I was tired of knitting with the Kona I had dyed and wanted a change of pace. These suckers knit up quickly, and are probably the cushiest, softest, most comfortable socks I have ever worn. I worried a bit when I was making them, because I had heard other sock-knitters complain that Claudia Hand Paints didn’t hold up so well for socks, since it’s so loosely spun, but they’ve been through the wash several times now, and they seem to be holding up just fine.
