Aurelia. As a name, it means "golden." To me, it brings to mind images of a winding brooke, a secluded spot in a forest overlooking a waterfall, and mythical tree nymphs. And so I’ve incorporated all those things into this pattern. These socks feature panels of open lace and curvy fake cables. The techniques used are not difficult, and these socks would be an easy project for an advanced beginner or an intermediate knitter.

Specs: These socks are worked top-down with fingering weight yarn (approx. 420 yds required, worked at 8 sts / 1″ on size 0 dpns). The pattern provides instructions for two sizes: a tall version (10.5″ tall) and a short version (7.5″ tall).

These socks are darling. Thanks for providing the pattern. Don’t know if you noticed, but in the yarn requirements for the Koigu, you have “2 skins”. Thought you would want to know. If someone else has already noticed, just disregard! And thanks again for the pattern!

I started your Aurelia Socks yesterday and I love the pattern! I had never done the i-cord cast-on, so that part took me quite a while, but I really like the way it looks. I am ready to start the heel. I am so impressed with the pattern that I had to let you know! Please keep designing!

I love this pattern and have actually just started my second pair. I love the picot edge you have on your 3rd pair. Since I have never done a picot edging before is it possible that you could either post how to do this using this pattern or even update the pattern pdf to include both starting methods?

I came across this pattern while looking for one to make my daughter, Arelia, a pair of socks. She is only 4 now. I am saving this pattern for when I have a little more experience and she’s a little bigger.
