Every year, BJ Bass plays at a big ol’ family reunion picnic north of town. The folks throwing the party are generous and good natured — they always invite the band families to participate in the party.

He deserves a few days of r & r; it’s been a rough week for him. He thought he had a four month gig in Oregon, gave up his apartment and roommate, stored all his stuff, did not enroll in his last semester of school, and then found out the job wouldn’t happen. He’s justifiably upset.

Here’s how I spent the afternoon…

This is the penultimate bobbin of the batts I carded up last week. I should have about 1100 yards of worsted weight yarn when I’m all done plying. Can you see my helper?

This little spider wandered up and down my spinning wheel most of the afternoon. Guess she felt like she was hanging out with a kindred spirit.
