Another free sock pattern

When I was younger, I used to think that buying VHS tapes (and later, DVDs when they became commonplace) was stupid. My premise was three-fold: (a) who watches movies over and over again, justifying the high expense of a home video? (b) VHS/DVDs are expensive, and (c) Renting is far cheaper. However, all of those opinions have long since been nullified - I do watch movies over and over again (it was stupid to think that I wouldn’t - this from the girl who will re-read a book til the binding breaks), DVDs on average are a LOT cheaper than they used to be, and at $10-20 a pop for a new DVD vs. $4.50 for a rental of a movie that you might rent several times… Well, buying those movies you like just makes sense to me now.

With summer approaching, there is absolutely nothing to watch on television unless you’re particularly smitten with reality and game shows (which I am not). So I perused my DVD collection and pulled out Fools Rush In, a standby favorite that falls just below When Harry Met Sally and Love Actually. I sat and watched Matthew Perry do his funny stuff and Selma Hayek do her sexy stuff while I worked on my Get to the Point Socks.

I thought about making it a Matthew Perry double-feature and throwing in The Whole Nine Yards, but sleep was calling, so I hit the sack instead. I didn’t sleep very well or very long, though, and got up around 4:30. I threw in another favorite, Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid (it’s such a great movie) and finished the socks.

Pictures taken, I was finally able to finish up the written pattern and get that put up, too. So, if you like, you can download the pattern here.

No work on Sahara still, but I’ll need to get cracking on that if I want to take it with me to Columbus this weekend. In the meantime, though, I’m spending tonight hanging out with friends Hans and Laura, who just got home from their honeymoon in Europe. So on that note, ciao!
