Pattern or no pattern?

It’s been a blah kind of day. It started off with a voicemail left on my phone while I was in the shower telling me I didn’t get the job at SAS. That, combined with the frustration of knowing that rent is due tomorrow (which I can cover, but still…) put me in sort of a pessimistic mood. I played around with some Flash stuff most of the day, and worked on my second Aurelia sock (or fourth, really, I guess), but that’s about all I could muster. About the only good thing to happen today was getting my Sockapalooza match.

Actually, the only time I felt at all motivated or inspired to do anything today was when I was sitting on the couch watching the tail end of Deal or No Deal before Heroes came on. The mother of the contestant was wearing this really great sweater.

A really cool sweater worn by the mother of the contestant on tonight’s Deal or No Deal

Sorry the pictures are so crappy - I shot a few stills of the television screen with my camera as soon as I saw the sweater, because I knew I wanted to remember it (and I knew I’d have a really hard time finding a picture online). But still, it was cool. Stockinette front and back, with really wide, almost bell, 3/4-length sleeves in a pretty lace pattern. Boat neck, inset shoulder seams, and it looked like it was a tad shorter at the side seams, though that could have just been due to the weight of the sweater (it looked like cotton?).

I so rarely find sweater patterns I’m totally in love with, so of course I have to go and fall in love with a sweater that most likely doesn’t have a readily-available pattern. Grrr. If anyone knows of anything like it, definitely send it my way!

  1. Sorry about SAS. :-( I do like that sweater though!

  2. Sorry you didn’t get the job. From the pictures, it looked like a clean-desk-at-the-end-of-the-day kind of place anyway. Is that agency actively looking for something for you, or was that a one-shot deal?

  3. Ruth from 5elementknitr. Thanks for your comment. I’m going to show it to my husband! I’m so stoked someone else noticed!
