Spring has invaded my brain

redbud in the porchbushes in bloomdid I plant this?

I love Spring. Spring doesn’t love me. It turns my brain to mush. I have all these things I want to do, and I can’t think well enough, or long enough, to do any of them. I finished these socks…

and would like to work on my blankie…

but even the effort of choosing colors for a new square is too much.

soothing spinning

Soothing spinning to the rescue. I can enjoy the change in color, but I don’t have to orchestrate it. I’ve already determined how I’m going to spin this batch (it’s Blows Smoke merino from Hello Yarn), so I don’t have to think. I just let my hands move back and forth and back and forth.

I am knitting, but I won’t bore you with a picture of black garter stitch. It will eventually be a short sleeved cardigan, jazzed up with some cute buttons. I spent most of the past two days swatching different stitch patterns, and finally decided that if this was ever going to be knit, garter stitch was the ticket. Mmmmm, mindlessness.

  1. Some days are just meant for mindless knitting. You’ll have to post pictures of the piece once you’ve got a bit of structure to it. :)
