a little bit me, a little you, too
Hey Liz — Your dad says that when he reads our unsigned posts on a newsreader, he sometimes can’t tell us apart! I think he’s silly. I mean really, I don’t sound like you and you don’t sound like me, and he should be able to tell just by the pictures we post, cuz he’d be able recognize mine as the stuff that’s been cluttering up the house for weeks and weeks. But, since he can’t, I’m going to humor him and begin my posts like this one from now on. He should catch on.
Did you see the comment from Beth on your photography tutorial? Did you go to her blog? And see that she and her buddies are from Ann Arbor? Think she knows that we’re former Washtenaw County residents? And aren’t we glad that we don’t live there this week? The low in Saline last night was -6F, today’s high was supposed to be 6F. It’s times like this I don’t mind so much living in the South, where it’s only 28F.
Not much knitting news to report. Darn customers are keeping me way too busy to knit at work, and by the time I get home I’m ready for peace and quiet. I did receive a package in the mail today, though. I’d almost forgotten that I’d ordered this stuff!
The two skeins on the left are Artyarns Beaded Silk in a luscious shade of turquoise. They’re much brighter than this picture lets on, and the crystal beads are built right into the yarn. Very cool! I plan to knit some version of Argosy from this for Grandma for her birthday. I can’t go to Phoenix empty handed now, can I?
The four skeins on the right are Artyarns 2 strand cashmere. This is an interesting yarn. It’s composed of two very thin single ply strands of yummy cashmere that are to be held together to make a yarn that knits at somewhere in the realm of 6 stitches to the inch. I haven’t pulled the skeins apart yet to see if I could use the strands singly, as a laceweight yarn, but I intend to investigate. These are going to marinate in the stash for a while, but I have a feeling that the red will become fingerless gloves if this cold weather lasts much longer.
Right now I need to tell Rusty that naptime is over, it’s time for Heroes.

Re: Our first random commentor >> Yes, I did see that! I *told* you posting that tutorial would get us hits. In fact, if you google the words “knitting photograph photoshop” or some combination thereof, ours is the first site it lists. How ’bout them apples? :) And how cool is it that they’re from A2? Quite spiffy, if I do say so myself.
