Brrrrr
As I type it’s 33 degrees out there, and windy. BJ Bass reminds me that in most other places we’ve lived, 33 degrees on January 28 is balmy. I’ve pulled out thick, handknit socks and my warmest wool sweater, and I sure am happy to be a knitter today.
I did finish something this week –
I am continually amazed at how different the colors appear as I move through the spinning process. When I first dyed this superwash wool top, Stops Traffic was the perfect name for this colorway. The pinks and oranges were eye-poppingly bright. There was white space between the colors. Not a lot, but some. Spinning diluted the intensity of some of the colors, and all but erased the really white spaces, replacing them with soft pink. Plying worked magic — I love barber pole yarn when it works out right.
This is 472 yards of fingering weight washable wool, not merino but close to it, what should I do with it?
